Black History Month 2020 was rooted in one simple idea: re-framing heroes. The driver behind this logic was found in a quote by sports television personality, Stephen A. Smith of ESPN.

“For the Jay-Zs, LeBrons, Shaqs and others I don’t consider them the American Dream. I consider me the American Dream. They’re the American fantasy, you got a one in a billion shot, if not more to be them, but you can be Stephen A.”

This inspired a three-part video series titled Your Attention – Please (YA–P). Here, we highlighted nine amazing creatives, three per episode, across the African American community doing big things on their way to the top. Each vignette — approximately five minutes highlighting one of our creators — was visually unique taking their cue from the lens of the creator. YA–P was hosted by the one and only, Craig Robinson.
